Kids Tournament Day in Muskegon
Fishing was nothing short of spectacular on Friday for the Kids and Ladies Classic tournament.  We had 2 future Captains on board, Brendan who is 11 and mates for me and Dalton who is 13 and mates for Captain Greg on Code Blue Charters that were running the show.  They picked all the baits, set-ups we ran and the location of the fishing.  We set up in 250 FOW in the 7’s and trolled SW.  They ended up the day 12 for 18 or 20 (we lost track during a real crazy stretch around 8:30).  The best depth was 300 FOW.  Their best setup was 225 copper with Blue Ice (K-44), that took 6 hits.  Mashed Banana (K-11) went 3 times on 7 color.  SeeBee (K-49) went 2 times 5 color, accounting for a 10lb Steelie.  We had single hits on a variety of other spoons, including NBK prototype, Easter Egg Glow (K-48), Blueberry Muffin (K-45), Sunfire (K-69) and pretty much anything the boys wanted to run.  All 9 of the rods that the boys ran took at least 1 hit.  The boys performed well but ended up just a couple pounds short of the money and finished 4th.  If you want to see some youngsters who really are coming into their own on the Big Lake, give Captain Greg or I a call and you can see our boys in action.
